Superbowl Sum Up

Another Superbowl is in the record books.

Super Bowl XLVII was a very eventful game. To say the least. The amount of pregame shows I watched about the beautiful crescent city of New Orleans has me checking out flight and hotel packages to go. Not to mention the amount of rebroadcast playoff and championship games my football IQ went up at least 20 points.

Pre-Game Prep...What to eat...

Not wanting to miss out on the game time munch fest yet not willing to mess up the progress I have made with my weight loss journey. I chose to make meatless burritos along with chips and salsa.

Here are the ingredients pictured to the right. No your eyes aren't mistaking you ground soy meat. Trust me you can't tell once you add the taco seasoning, tomato sauce, cumin, and Badia complete seasoning. It is so yummers.

I added sweet corn to the homemade salsa
ingredients : tomatoes, cilantro, onion, sweet corn, two shakes of Badia Complete seasoning and the juice of two limes. Black beans were warmed up in the microwave with cumin and complete seasoning. After everything is cooked, warmed, chopped, tossed, and stirred together. I assembled the burritos as you would normally. Mine was a bit over stuffed.

This meal ran me about $20.00, and makes about 5-7 burritos, and the left over salsa is/was excellent dip for my organic blue corn chips. This was an excellent meal filling but not overstuffed great compromise.

And let the game begin..

Let me start out saying that I am a sports fan football, basketball, hockey, baseball, golf, tennis, etc. Yeah I enjoy WATCHING sports... As for Super Bowl XLVII  the hard hits were to be expected.

Commentators talking smack and saying things like "I thought the defense was going to settle down this crowd but they just added gas to the fire", classic. The fake field goal attempt and falling a yard short another classic.

What wasn't expected was the 34 minute delay because the Super Bowl officials didn't work out the power grid for that part of the city. And truth be told, that area experiences rolling blackouts regularly so the officials knew that could have happened. Anyways the game was great San Fransisco making that last half serge. Getting 17 points in 4 minutes I think should be a Super Bowl record. A gallant effort by the San Fransisco 49ers see you again next year.

Super Bowl Commercials, and Beyonce halftime performance..

My favorite commercials were

The scream the goat lets out is hilarious.

As a parent I can relate to this, your kids can get you to do some of the craziest things just for you to get what you want.

This commercial right here further emphasized the need to take care of this planet we live on. Or we will not have the land to have farmers to take care of it. Powerful ad campaign.

And my least favorite is:

This commercial is just Yuck..but it does the job.

BEYONCE'S HALFTIME PERFORMANCE...

I am not the biggest Beyonce fan however, I  enjoy a live performance from an entertainer who knows how to do it and do it well. My hats off to her she put on a mini concert. She basically got paid to do a promo for her up coming tour. You go Mrs.Carter your brand is banking.

All in all it was a good game, commercials, and half time performance. The billion dollar machine which is the NFL invested alot and received a big return. As for the person(s) responsible for the power in the Super Dome, yeah,um...I guess you are putting your packing up your desk and putting your resume out tomorrow.

This was Afrikah's Perspective
Stay Blessed.
