When it comes to DIY nail art and design I am a bit challenged...
In the past I always wore acrylic nails, got them done every 10-14 days because I am rough on my hands and this can be expensive over time. Especially if you add designs, studs, rhinestones, etc. Then more recently I got the bright idea of doing my own acrylic nails after watching YouTube, and it seemed easy for them to do it. Yeah, I know...
Let's say from far far away they look great, but up close not so much. As pictured to the right. Trust me it looks way better on camera than it did in person.

I gave up on that, and went into DIY gel nail applications, with the same results. So I gave up on fancy nail art and design for awhile and stuck with polka-dot designs at best. That was until I had an epiphany, earlier this week. When I used Essie sleekstick Nail strips, clear nail polish, rhinestones and nail glue. This resulted in the best DIY nail design that I have ever done.
To start make sure that you have basic manicure done i.e. nails filed, cuticles pushed back, no polish on the nail, etc.
Because I am right handed I started with my left hand. I applied rhinestones to my left ring finger and middle finger, with no concrete design I went to it. I applied a coat of clear nail polish to my nails before adding the rhinestones with the nail glue to hold it.

smudging them before they are dried. What makes this a perfect DIY for the nail art challenged, you do not have to paint or draw anything. You are only putting stickers on on your finger nails adding rhinestones and applying a clear coat of polish to seal. Next time I am going to really amp it up with the accessories probably some studs who knows. At least, my nails will not look like my eight year old daughter painted them any more.
Share, this blog with other nail art challenged folks such as myself.
As always, consistency is the key to change.
