However the access, knowledge, and the buying power haven't always worked in my favor at least two out of the three have kept me from attempting to wear make up comfortably. Without feeling like Mimi from the Drew Carey show.
As time went on I started feeling a bit more comfortable wearing make up. However the people I was around weren't into make up like that and not to be the odd person out I hid my love affair with make up and all things beauty, fashion, and glam related. I dimmed my light in order to fit in the crowd.
Well that is me no more, I started seriously venturing in make up in mid 2012. I was bored with my everyday look, I want some umph,a spark, a dazzle something other than lip gloss and mascara. Which is fine, but I want to look the way I felt, like a grown A** woman. Who feels and looks better now than she did when in her teens and twenties and wanted to show it off.
OK with in reason, nothing "drag queen" like that's not the look I am going for. Something to bring out that inner confidence I felt myself rocking inwardly and wanted the world to see the energy that I felt. So what's a beginner to do....
Research, research, did I mention research. Firstly use what is available to you whether its YouTube, department store make up counter, Sephora, magazine articles, online articles, following a MUA (make up artist) on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, something. If make up is something you really want to learn you will go out and get the knowledge. I know I have and I still continue to do so.
As a beginner, you will be amazed by the amount of makeup and beauty items you can purchase. I know I was and still am, by the sheer amount of makeup that one person can purchase. But purchasing makeup and not knowing the proper steps, techniques, or tools can result in photos like this (see image above). She probably is a nice young lady. However her makeup application is not putting her best foot forward.

But, I do know when something just doesn't look right to the eye. You know.
A"true" beginners beauty video is my beginners effort at a full face and what I feel is the best look for ME. I prefer a more natural face playing up my eyes and the fullness of my lips without being over done. That added umph, to my look. Video was done on my web cam forgive the added noise.

Makeup doesn't hide ugly. True beauty comes from within.
