As always I am fine tuning my wardrobe adding and removing items seasonally. Now that spring/summer is here its time to whip out those lighter and more breathable clothes. Such as cotton and linen which are a staple in my closet for the spring and summer months.
Also its time to update my wardrobe and we all know what that means..... SHOPPING♥♥♥♥. Now I don't drive a Cadillac, or Benz so my budget is strict on what I am willing to pay full price for. And since I am mostly buying seasonal pieces I really dont see the need to pay full price.
So thrift store I went, my mission was to get black and white pieces, pops of color, and a small leather bag. Always go to the thrift store with a plan or you will get overwhelmed. Per usual the thrift store is humming with customers combing the racks of clothes, jackets, housewares, and miscellaneous stuff.
It took me about an hour of browsing to find pieces I liked, and to my luck they were adding more items to the clothing rack. Thats when I came upon a pair of white jeans from Express ($7.99) and a cream pair of linen pants from Banana Repbulic ($2.99). As I browsed what seemed to be and endless variety of clothes I saw store brands like gap, old navy, forever21, banan repvulic, areopostle, American egale, hollister hell there was even a rack of furs.
Eventually I picked up 3 tank tops, 2 cotton blouses and my best find a Gloria Vanderbilt mini leather duffle bag ($2.99). Can we say throwback, if know fashion then YOU KNOW who Gloria Vanderbilt is if not Google it.
The total cost of updating my closet $36.00, yes I could have went to Marshals , Ross, or TJ Maxx and bought new items. But, I would have only walked away with two dresses and a shirt. I need to stretch my ends so this was the better option for ME.
All items mentioned are pictured below.
This was Afrikah's Perspective
Stay blessed.
