Beginner's Beauty: I can beat my face finally....

All in the mission of becoming my own MUA I  have to practice,  practice, practice and as a result my technique has gotten better over the last few months.

So on my recent mini makeup retail therapy trip at a Wal-Mart I picked up a few items and went to work.

As always I start with a freshly washed and moisturized face,  leaving this step out will cause your makeup not to go on smoothly.
I always start with my brows filling them in and defining them.

Next I did my eyeshadow using one of the new products I purchased Revlon's cream shadows as a base my Kiss New York Nude Seduction palette.  This combo  gave the Kiss palette new life, color pay out was phenomenal when I used the cream eyeshadow as a base.

I did something a little different on my face. First I combined Ruby Kisses 3D face creator (level 15) along with Black Radiance concealer stick to mute out blemishes and discoloration. Then I applied a blend of CoverGirl 3in1 foundation (soft sable) and Loreal Truematch (cool cocoa)
for my ideal color and coverage.

Now what makes my face pop is the highlighting that I did and the fact that I blended for my life. Contouring was done by lightly building Loreal Truematch in the hallows of my cheeks, sides of my nose and slightly on my temple area.
I set my highlighted area with  a translucent powder and used CoverGirl Queen Collection bronzer to set my contoured areas , then blended it all with L.A. Colors Mineralized powder (ebony).

On my cheeks is another new product Black Radiance baked blush (toasted almond), which compliments my skin tone so well. Topped of with the orange from Nikak eclipse palette for added shimmer on my cheekbone.  I made sure to take a clean fluffy brush and blended out all harsh lines so I could achieve that gradient effect from light to dark.
On my lips the bronze orange color was achieved by using  a Jordana lip liner , NYC lipstick , and a NikaK lip gloss. The second lip color was achieved by using a NYC lip stain, Jordana lip liner, NYC plumping gloss, and a NikaK lip gloss in the center of my lips.

If I were to grade myself on this look I would give myself an B+ , for these reasons.
1.  Eyeshadow could have been blended a little more.
2. Lip color could more pronounced.
3. Contour could have been more pronounced in the hollows of my cheeks.
4.Brow highlight wasn't visible enough.
5. "Beared lady" was still visible,  need to work more on color correction.

Overall I must say I did a hell of a job for someone who started applying,  buying, trying,  and wearing makeup within the last year. So I feel as though I can step my game up by purchasing mid range drug store and some department store (i.e. Sephora, and Ulta) makeup and brushes.

Right now I am going to purchase the color corrector made by pixi woo and some more brushes.  Cause one could never  have enough brushes.
