All about the brown | Becoming My Own MUA

If you haven't noticed, neutrals and browns are the latest trend in makeup going into 2015. And if you were born before the 90's then you have seen this color trend before. However, this time around we know not to add a darker brown or black lip liner around the lips. Well some of us any ways.

As you all well know I watch a lot of YouTube makeup and beauty videos, and the brown lip has been the must have look for this winter season. Now before I went and bought some more lip stick to jump on the latest trend. I went shopping in my makeup stash  and this is the look that I came up with using makeup products that I already have.

As you can see its a real simple face and stunning brown lip color and a metallic brown eye color. I am really proud of my makeup application and the lip color that I created to come as close to the reddish brown lip trend that is out now.

At first I doubted that the brown color trend would even look good on me, because of deep skin tone. Boy was I mistaken.

I used Revlon's cream <---eyeshadow (precious metals). The arrow indicates the cream shadow I used for the base.  For the eyeshadow color I used Nika K's cosmetics Geisha palette. Pictured below; I only used the brown out of that palette. I pressed/patted the eyeshadow color onto my lids. The shadow has a shimmer to it, however it is the same color of the shadow.

In the crease I used another inexpensive makeup brand Wetnwild (lust, and the naked truth).
*naked truth
I only used the dark brown in this palette for my outer 'V' and crease.

                 *lust
I only used the darkest purple without the shimmer in the crease making sure to blend everything out with a clean blending brush.

I do this to soften the color of the crease and it insures me that the color is blended. Also I do not wear false lashes, softening the look enables my lashes to be seen through the eye shadow color. I used the same colors on my lids for my lower lash line.

I tight lined my upper and ash line and piled on the mascara.  My current favorite is Black Radiance Lash Lengthening. Yes, a cheaper version of Rimmel London Lash Accelerator .

As for foundation I used Maybeline Fit Me #355, highlight L.A. Girls Proconceal(fawn). I set everything with L.A. Colors pressed mineral powder (ebony, mocha). I like to keep my face as simple as possible to draw more attention to my eyes and lips. As for blush another drug store favorite Black Radiance baked blush (toasted almond) it warms up my face without me looking like a clown.

As for contouring I used Ruby Kisses mineral pressed powder (ebony) and for highlight I used another Ruby Kisses cosmetics bronzer. I love that bronzer so much a little goes a long way. Do you see that glow on my cheek bone?

Now to the lips, I lined them with a dark brown lip pencil filling in my entire lip, Then I placed Maybeline #950 on top and the magic happened. Well to me it did. My lips came to life, if I were only to use the dark brown lip pencil I would look like I am smoking crack. Not the best look for me. And that's it pretty simple.

I am a beginner slowly making my way to novice and wanted to show others like my self it is possible to achieve trendy makeup looks, if you tweak it to your liking.

As always, no matter how much you spend on your makeup, if you do not know what you are doing you will look like a high end fool
