Lipstick color can change your make up look | Lipstick and Eyeshadow combination | Becomming My Own M.U.A.

Have you ever noticed how a lip stick color can compete, enhance, or take away from a makeup look....

In this makeup practice I was getting more familiar with loose pigments and decided to experiment with different lipstick colors to see what effect if any would take place.

I started out with a freshly washed face making sure to moisturize before applying any makeup product.  I start with my brows filling in any sparse areas and attempting to tame them, defining them with L.A. Girls ProConceal (espresso) makings sure to blend the product in.  As you can see I have thick brows and use very little of E.L.F. brow kit.

For the eye look I used Black Radiance Continuous Color Pigment (orange) on the mobile lid, I sprayed the brush with E.L.F. mist and stet spray to help intensify the pigment. I used a patting motion to apply the pigment because the fall out is real. After applying the pigment I played up the color in my crease with purple and orange to help warm up and
bring dimension back to my eye. Making sure to blend the eyeshadow colors. I went on to my face, since the concentration were my eyes and lips I only used a concealer to highlight and set it with a pressed mineral powder, as well as the rest of my face.

Now on to the lipstick combinations, which can make or break your whole makeup look. Check this examples out and you tell me.

LIPPIE #1 (Jordana Matte Lipstick and NYX lip pencil (brown)). This color compliments the eye look by creating a mauve  subtlety to the lips allowing the eyes to stand out.

LIPPIE #2 (Ruby Kisses Matte Lipstick (Purple Affair & Lavender) This is a very bold look for me, great for playing around but not something I would be comfortable wearing out. To much for the eye to focus on.

LIPPIE #3 (NYX Butter Gloss (Tiramisu) and NYX brown lip pencil). Another great subtle lip color that does not compete with my eye look. Keeping all the attention towards my eyes.

LIPPIE #4 (NYX Matte butter Cream (Canes) NYX brown lip pencil).  As you can once again with my lips being a soft color it makes the eye look stand out more.

LIPPIE #5 (NYX Matte lip (Monte Carlo) & Rimmel Kate Moss collection (11)). In my opinion the lipstick color  makes the makeup look to strong and it's over powering my face, i.e. the makeup is wearing me.

As you can see by the 4 looks the looks have a different affect when the lipstick color is changed. Out of all the looks I really like the first one. The balance of color between the eyes and lips are a great compliment to my face.  Something that I must pay attention to as a become my own M.U.A. as it comes to complementary clors.

Tell me what you think.
