Beginner Holiday Makeup Look#1 | Becomming My Own MUA | Afrikahs Perpsective | #Blogmas2015

Christmas is right around the corner and that means office parties, winter night life, and constant family functions. With that I know I want to look a little sparkly, and added glow to my makeup look.

GOLDEN EYES HOLIDAY LOOK #1

As always I start out with a freshly washed and moisturized face. as a primer I used L'oreal  Studio Secrets magic perfecting base.

I used it on my T-Zone, this product is great in reducing the shine and helping make up products glide on the face easily.  Next I did my brows, using a simple beauty supply store brow pencil and brushed it through so its more "natural" in appearance.  I used everyone's favorite concealer
L.A. Girl ProConceal drk. cocoa to define my brows and for a bit of highlight I used toffee on the brow bone and used it as a primer. Always making sure to blend it out.

For the eye look it was real simple. I used the yellow gold cream eyeshadow from Maybeline as a base, this helps in giving the eyeshadow a bit more pop. For the eyeshadow color I used a yellow gold shadow color from Nikka K eighteen palette. I packed that color on and blended out any harsh lines using the dark brown as a transition color and to deepen my outer 'V' along with a touch of black. For my brow bone I used the light brown from the same palette. I did a slight winged liner and for the lower lid I tight lined my eyes with a black kohl eye pencil and using a dark purple shadow to smoke out the eye look a little bit. I do not know how to put on false lashes so I piled on the mascara and kept in moving.

I try to keep my eye looks pretty simple. To me the simple
eye looks usually has the best results for me.

On to the face ... which I keep pretty simple. I used Dark cocoa to conceal any  hyper pigmentation and toffee for my highlighted areas (under eye, down the bridge of my nose, chin, cupids bow, chin, center of forehead, and the top of arch on my eyebrow) making sure to blend for your life.

Setting the highlighted areas with NYC translucent powder to prevent creasing. As my foundation I used Iman's cream to powder foundation (Earth 4) on the rest of my face. Making sure to blend into the highlight, so that there is no line of demarcation. This foundation is a beginners dream, no setting powder needed.

For blush I  used NYX cinnamon
and that glow that on my cheek bone, cupids bow and down the bridge of my nose I used Ruby Kisses All
Over Bronzing Powder  in Bronze
Glow.

As for that the lip color, I lined and filled in my lips with L.A. Girl lip pencil (eggplant) and on top I used their flat matte lip pigment in Backstage. I love
the shade of red, great for fall and winter and perfect combination for me and my skin tone.

Like I said previously, I like to keep my face simple and play up my eyes and lips.  Check out the blog tomorrow for the details on my hair and the struggle of attempting a bob  for the second time.
