You put it all out there on Social Media...
Then you wonder why you receive the amount of garbage you do in your personal life. It's all fun when you are posting pictures of you getting sloppy wasted, doing illegal drugs or my favorite "catfish" (stealing a some one's photo and claiming it as your own). You think that you are going to get away with it and it harmless, no one is getting hurt.
Well, you are wrong matter of fact you are dead ass wrong. Let's take the first example being sloppy wasted all over social media. On one of those turned up nights with your friends, family whom ever. That's great if you keep the memories and photos limited to the folks that are there. Once you start posting reckless photos its a permanent record of the persona you have on social media. Suppose your boss, potential client, potential investor, etc.
What if the went online, which they do and saw all the mess of the persona you had online. You really think they will want to hire your messy butt. Your potential employer/investor might think you will show up drunk or hung over at their place. And you can't blame them for it because you put it out there.
Now for the smart folks who proudly post pictures of them smoking something that isn't a hookah, cigar, cigarette, or some other tobacco like product. If your name isn't Snoop Dog don't post it. If you want a job don't post it. If you don't want to "watched" don't post. Leave that to those entertainers for that is the social media persona THEY want for THEMSELVES.
On to my personal favorite, Catfish. The complete package of social media over exposure. The despicable act of stealing some one's photo and claiming it as your own. Weather its claiming the work as your own that's in the photo. Or claiming that you are the person who is in the photo.
The victims in this are unknowing participants most of the time they are regular folks who probably have a social media following. Which means there are photos upon photos that are out there. That's when the catfish takes flight. A couple of people take your photos and have there way with it. Victims being no the wiser to what's going on.
Until an email, phone call or text with some random person letting them know about some bullsh*t situation that's going on i.e. that they have used their photo(s) to con people into relationships and as are result stealing their money, false advertisements with their pictures, setting up fake companies so they can solicit free products... So many people get hurt in this situation that it is remarkable that no one has gotten seriously injured as of yet.
It is so crazy out there in the pseudo reality of social media. You have to protect your brand (name and image) at all times. Be mindful of what you post because it can and will be held against in the court of public opinion and law.

Stay Blessed
