The Introduction of 2 a day workouts and Tabata workouts
Yeah, so last week was a workout bust however, I vowed not to let last week set back and to manage my time better in order to progress. So I went into this week with one mindset "Consistency is the key to change", and went forward from there.
This week I modified my eating habits so I could counteract the garbage I stuffed down my face last week. I decided to cut out all poultry ,reduce the amount of dairy products by a great deal, incorporated a ton load of summer fruits and vegetables, and stuck to fish. if I wanted anything extra I added shrimp, or lump crab meat, or muscles. Cooked with no added salt or sugar, switched from canola oil to sunflower or olive oil. I also bumped up the amount of water, didn't drink wine until the weekend and made sure not to eat 3 hours before bed. This works for me and my metabolism.
Now to 2 a day workouts and Tabata
You may wonder what that is , simply put you are working out in the morning and in the evening. As for Tabata workouts its form of interval training where you burn out every muscle group that you are working. It usually entails 8-10 exercises, 8 rounds, 20 seconds on 10 seconds rest in between each round.
Very intense but, it produces results quickly.
I know sounds crazy and yes it is but I want to see results fast, so 2 a days it is. Now I didn't start out the week like that, I did a intense core video from RealFitTv, 20 minutes of Melissa Belly dancing Class, and Hip Hop Tabata dance workout from Kearia LaShae . It is not for a beginner at fitness because you may hurt yourself. Yeah I was sore as hell the next day and since i didn't want to hurt myself I chose workout and ate more protein in the form of salmon and eating almonds. Since I have a prior injury to my right knee I took two days off.
With that being said, I did my first 2 a day on Thursday doing Mad Calorie Burn cardiokickboxing from RealFitTv in the morning and Upper Body Burn Tabata workout from Fitness Blender. Both workouts are brutal calorie and muscle burning workouts I am still feeling the effects of this workout today.
Friday my biceps and triceps were so sore from that upper body workout but, I pressed on and did an hour video from Fitness Blender Lower Body Toning Workout. I thought my arms hurt however by the end of this workout all my limbs were screaming sit your ass down. I didn't and workout on Saturday with another Fitness Blender workout a 60 min. HIIT cardio and abs workout.
One word OUCH, my arms, and legs were already sore from the previous days workouts. So why did I push it one more day. My legs were cursing me the hell out when it came down to the split jump with burpess. Yeah, I was actually looking forward to the abdominal workout...o_0 portion of the video. I continued and was proud of my accomplishment.
A four day workout week, with cardio at least 3 of those days. It was just the thing I needed to get me over Week 4 slump. Sunday I will take a break and allow my body to rest up, because I will be back at it on Monday and updating on Week 6 progress, downfalls, struggles, and triumphs.
Until then remember "consistency is the key to change, you will never see progress if you do not keep at it".
