First time not so hot, the second time is a lot better

One has to practice in order not to look tragic....

I am back at it once again. So as usual I practice/play whatever you want to call it in my makeup at least 3 times a week. Most of the time it comes out looking fabulous (well beginners version)and I share what I learned and what I came up with. Then there are times I look like a tragic mess.

If you are a beginner like myself you will mess up at times hell, even seasoned professionals mess up.  The difference between them and me is the fact they know how to rebound quickly from it and me on the other hand would have to start from scratch.

The photos below represent my struggle of consistently being able to apply my makeup effectively. In order to do that I really had to learn my eye shape to be better able to apply and blend my eye makeup. To achieve the look I was going for. You can buy all the high makeup you want however, if you do not know how to properly apply it you will still look like a hot tragic mess.

In both attempts I am not wearing any foundation  on my face.

In my first attempt my face looks nice but my eyes look like beginner introduction to eye shadow application. Mistakes that I notice is the fact that the color in my outer V is very harsh its like blending wasn't even my friend.  Secondly the color that I used to define my eye is more striking than the eye lid color. In essence making my eyes lose all their shape and appearing smaller.

Personally I look like a tragic mess so glad I was only practicing and not going anywhere I would have been embarrassed.

In my second attempt it looks like I have actually paid attention to what I have been watching here on YouTube and other social media outlets. Can we talk about my brows and how they are so neat for a change.  On to the eye makeup the main difference is the fact that I actually placed the eye shadow where it belonged. Meaning I focused more on how and where I applying the shadow to define my outer V. Making sure to keep the color only in that area.  My brow highlight is lost from applying color to my inner and outer v.

My eyes have more definition and seem to be bigger/open.  Most importantly the eye shadow colors are not competing with one another. They all blend in a harmonious flow.

I will continue to work on defining my eye shape, selecting the eye shadow colors that compliment each other and selecting lip stick colors that compliment my eye shadow. More research, note taking, and YouTube watching for me.
