Operation: Healthy and.Fit

Summer is in full swing ,

And everyone is in the midst of their summer time fine grind. Dropping pounds and looking fabulous I have been in a rut.

I have been eating reasonably well, but stress has taken over and my body is screaming for a release from this toxic feeling. So I decided to do something about.

Got my butt up and started moving it. Now its been a few months since I have committed to a serious workout regime and stuck with it. However, with stress taking a hold of my body and the negative chemical effects are showing in a major way.

I am starting to have more breakouts, bloating, water retention, more grey hair production and a overall blah attitude towards life.

The best way to combat this is to workout and get rid off all that toxic waste that stress produces and most importantly it will help put me in a better mood. So I went back to what I know doing  workout videos that are on YouTube.  Why, you ask simple I pay for internet, I can't always get a babysitter to watch my daughter, and everybody doesn't drive a Cadillac. So I am going to make do with what I have.

So I started the second week of June which was brutal because the heat and humidity is in full swing in Florida.

Per usual the start is always the hardest and the day after my first full length workout video was brutal. I was sweating like a pastor who stole the tithes money from church on Sunday. Which is all the proof that I needed to show how out of shape I was in and how badly I needed to sweat out the toxic energy that's in my body.

By the end of week one I was no worse for wear a bit sore though, however I was feeling motivated. YouTube fitness/workout channels I watched that week were:

Fitness Blender- they have a good variety of workout videos ranging from light impact to tabata workouts. Do not get it twisted even the "light" impact workouts will have you sweating. Love this channel, they have regular uploads and are good at responding to their subscribers/viewers questions and comments.

Kieara LaShea-Trainer/dance/singer she has video series on Dailyburn.com however she does have a YouTube channel.  Her workout videos are dance inspired so it doesn't even feel as though you are getting your fine grind on.  By the end of her workouts you are drenched with sweat and have a couple more moves to add to your dance arsenal.  Her workouts are only 20-25 minutes long so you can get two in and feel great afterwards.

RealFitTv- I was browsing YouTube and found this channel. Her kickboxing and cardio videos are no joke. High energy, high impact, serious cardio workout. Her music keeps you motivated and so does the instructor. She uploads frequently and offers more than workout videos. She does weight loss, and fitness tips. She to reaches out regularly to her subscribers/viewers via questions and comments.

In week two I felt a little stronger and more motivated. My body missed sweating out all of my stress working out is a great stress reliever. I rotated workout videos from the above mentioned YouTubers. I also noticed the inflammation that was occurring in my face was starting to reduce. I was more patient with my daughter and most importantly I was sleeping a little longer each night. BY the end of the week I had worked out 4 days that week.

Week Three, I only did one day of fitness I had to travel and was unable to get internet at my location. Also I was met with an antagonistic insecure man that wanted to display his Napoleon complex which threw me off track and I fell of the fine grind wagon.

Now I am entering week 4 with a clean slate, still encountering Napoleonic type behavior. However, I will be pushing on because one money don't stop a show.

I will be updating via my blog regularly on the highs and lows of Operation: Healthy and Fit. Remember that if you do any of the workout videos do it AT YOUR OWN FITNESS LEVEL. Don't over do it and end up hurting yourself it, I have done it and still paying for it.

This was Afrikah's Perspective
Stay Blessed
