Long time no post, I know it has been a while....
It has been a ever so changing past three months. You know how it goes in order to have consistent growth you must continue to evolve and change but let me not bore you with my life. Let's get on to the makeup up.
In the midst of my absence I have still been practicing...
In one of my marathon viewing sessions of YouTube videos, I started watching +JamaicanMakeUpArtist with @Batricia Bastian. OMG my knowledge increased by 10 fold. I had an "AH HA" moment in the midst of Batricia explaining the purpose of highlighting or brightening your face. The purpose of highlighting your face is to create a oval shape in the middle of your face and everything outside of that oval should be dark or contoured . So, with that being said you know that everyone highlight will be different because everyone face is shaped differently. Those words right there changed the way I apply my highlight and contour on my face.
After watching that video and a few other Makeup Artists and makeup bloggers here is the look I came up with. As you can see I am learning the art of allowing your foundation to look like second skin. To achieve this, I used a makeup primer from Loreal (magic perfecting base) to help fill in my frown and laugh lines, as well as any large pores that I have in my T-Zone. With me doing this it allowed my concealer and liquid foundation to go on like butter. Blending was a dream.
As you can see I am beginner beat darling. No harsh lines highlight, contour and blush all blended to create a subtle glow and warmness to my cheeks. The glow was achieved by using Ruby Kisses Bronzer on my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, cupids bow and above my arch. A little of this product goes a very long way. My blush color is NikaK eclipse palatte a mixture of purples and pinks blended onto my cheeks to compliment the eyeshadow look that I have on.
Another change to my makeup routine is experimenting with setting sprays and eyeshadows. I used a Wet and Wild color icon 6 shadow palatte sticking with the purple shades. To achieve that extra velvet like look to inexpensive shadows spray a little setting spray on your eyeshadow brush then dip into the eyeshadow when you apply that to your lids "Butta baby". E.L.F. has one for $3, real inexpensive for us beginners to practice with. I used an eyeshadow primer and no base and look how vibrant that eyeshadow color is on my lids.
Also I started placing concealer on my eyelids to help mute out the color of them so the true color of the eyeshadow can pop.
The one key to applying makeup is blending, blending, blending. If you do not blend you will look like a tragic hot mess. Also good skin care helps you use less product on your face.
Take care of your skin, make sure you wear sunblock, and drink plenty of water. Yeah you have heard this time and time again yet it true.
Overall, I feel as though my technique is coming along very well. I will never want to do makeup for anyone other than myself . However, when I apply my makeup to myself I want to look beat by all the makeup gods.
