Beginner Flawless Finish | Kiss BB Cream, LA Girls ProConceal, and Rimmel | Becoming My Own MUA

Life took a dramatic turn over the summer. Now that reality of everything is settling in, I can move on.

Even though I haven't been posting....

I still have been watching makeup hauls, tutorials, and practicing my beginner hands off. I have learned a lot of things and did some shopping as a result of it as well. You know how it goes when you watch your favorite beauty/makeup bloggers you end up shopping.

Here is one of my latest, practice sessions where I mixed L.A. Colors ProConceal (Chestnut) with Rimmel's stay matte primer as a base under Kiss New York BB Cream. Let's say its one of my better beginner beat face moments.

As pictured to the left, its a beginners flawless finish. Notice that even tone and smooth finish. I am finally understanding how to use makeup effectively.

As mention before I used L.A.Girls Proconceal(Chestnut) along with Rimmel's stay matte primer. The reasoning behind this, was Rimmel's primer

leaves a white or grey cast on my face. So adding the concealer helped warm up the primer along with even out my skin tone. Helping create a even canvas to work on. I learned that from on of the one of the  many makeup artist that I follow on Instagram/YouTube.

Doing this changed the game, it allowed me to use less of the Kiss BB Cream. Side note I think you can use it to that combo alone for a fresh face look as well. After doing that I proceeded with my highlight under my eye, down the bridge of my nose and cupids bow. Making sure to blend the highlight so there aren't any lines of demarcation between my highlighted areas and the rest of my face. For the rest of my face I used Kiss New York BB Cream (medium).

I set my entire face with L.A. Colors pressed mineral powder(ebony), then placed translucent powder under the eye so I can sweep away any fall out from my eye shadow.

For an eyeshadow base I used LA Girls Proconceal (fawn), making sure to blend it out. As for eye shadows I used Milani Bella Eye Shadows pictured above. On the left (09 Bella Navy) and to the right (02 Bella Sand). These eye shadows are all over YouTube, Instagram, Facebook beauty groups, etc. These eye shadows are easy to blend, highly pigmented, and butter soft on the eyes.

I used Bella Sand on the majority of the eye lid Bella Navy for the outer 'V' of the eye. Blending this as I said was a dream for a beginner/novice at this makeup game.  As seen to the left the transition from the navy to sand is a nice gradient. For the my transition color I used a  Black Radiance trio eyeshadow (On Point) dark brown, with a very light hand. For my brow highlight I used Black Radiance Under Eye Color Corrector setting powder. Its a peach toned color and highlights the brow bone with very naturally, you do not want your brow highlight to out shine you eye look.

As for the rest of the eye look I used E.L.F. Brow Kit (medium) and clear brow gel to do my brows. I also tight lined my eyes with a Physician's Formula kohl eye pencil (black),and a light coat of mascara Black Radiance full effect (jet black).

As for the rest of my face Ruby Kisses pressed mineral powder (ebony) for my contour areas (sides of my nose, hallows of my cheeks, jaw line temple and hair line), I did that with a very light hand and also I made sure to blend out all harsh lines, for a more "natural" look. Highlight powder Bella Sand Milani eye shadow and CoverGirl TruBlend (440). I the used eye shadow on my cheek bones, and cupids bow and CoverGirl very lightly on the bridge of my nose, above the arch of my eyebrows. Also makings sure to blend, blend, blend. I want dimensions brought back to my face with out looking made up. As a blush just used CoverGirl TruBlend.

For my lip color it is NYX butter cream (Tiramisu) and brown lip pencil. Not to bad for a beginner.

What I could have improved on:
1. Not using so much translucent powder under my eye. Caused a chalky appearance which caused me to use E.L.F. makeup mist to take that away.

2.Having a lighter hand when applying primer and concealer. It took forever to blend it all out.

Things I learned.
1.  Milani Bella eyeshadow are like butter and Bella Sand is the perfect highlight powder for me.

2.  Using a primer and concealer combo mutes out my discoloration and helps create a smooth surface to apply product to my face.

More makeup looks to come....

As always consistency is the key to change. If you are not consistent how will you ever see the change.
